RAK11720 is a versatile low-power, long-range module supporting LoRaWAN and Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) protocols. Ideal for a variety of IoT applications such as home automation, sensor networks, building automation and more.

Main features

  • Powerful processor and large memory: Based on the AMA3B1KK-KBR-B0 Ambiq Apollo3 SoC microcontroller and equipped with 1 MB flash and 348 KB SRAM, the RAK11720 offers high performance and processing capacity for your IoT projects.
  • Dual wireless communication: The module supports both LoRaWAN wide area network and Bluetooth Low Energy connectivity, giving you greater flexibility for your applications.
  • Simple, versatile programming: The RAK11720's default firmware is based on RUI3 (RAKwireless Unified Interface), enabling you to use it easily as a stand-alone module by developing your own customized firmware via Arduino-compatible RUI3 APIs. You can directly connect sensors and other external peripherals without the need for an additional microcontroller. What's more, the RAK11720 can always be interfaced to an external host microcontroller using AT commands via UART or a BLE connection.
  • Two antenna options: Available in two variants: with IPEX MHF4 connector for connecting external antennas, or with RF pins for connecting a custom antenna.
  • Low power consumption: Designed for use in battery-powered applications, the RAK11720 offers ultra-low power consumption.
  • Extended range and rich functionality: With a range that can exceed 10 km with an optimized antenna, the RAK11720 is suitable for applications requiring long-distance communication. It also boasts a comprehensive set of features, including support for multiple frequency bands, LoRaWAN activation via OTAA/ABP, an easy-to-use AT command set and various I/O ports for connecting sensors and peripherals.
